Personal Digital Archiving

Personal digital archive is a formal term for the digital data we create and store on a daily basis. (G. Redwine) Personal digital archiving refers to the creation, processing, naming, organizing, and long-term preservation of digital objects found in the personal archives of private individuals. As an archive, we want to impart knowledge to private individuals through instructions, recommendations, training, and support them in taking care of their personal archives and thus also their digital legacy. Take advantage of our offer.

In our digital world, personal digital archiving plays a crucial role in managing important documents and personal data permanently, securely, and efficiently. The structure of the archive plays a decisive role. It is advisable to create a clear organization with comprehensible categories and folders. Not only does this make it easier to find files but it also promotes long-term organization and maintenance. Security and data protection are essential. Using secure passwords, updating software, and regular backups ensure protection against data loss and unauthorized access. Regular updating and maintenance of the digital archive is crucial to maintain the integrity of the data. This includes deleting unnecessary files, updating metadata, and adapting the structure to changing needs. It is important to select suitable storage solutions. For example, these can be cloud storage services or external hard disks. Cloud storage allows convenient access from anywhere, while external hard disks enable local backup.

As an archive, we have a great interest in preserving personal digital archives for future generations and thus supplementing our collection profile.
